I’ve started receiving the first submissions for 146 Poems of Love (yay!). I’ve also posted a couple of updates on the 146Poems page:

*For those of you submitting: I will notify you within one month of the submission deadline at the very latest. If you haven’t heard from me by June 30th, please feel free to email.

*Please note that there will not be any monetary compensation for those accepted for publication, but you will receive a free copy of the book.

I will continue to post more details and updates on this blog and on the 146Poems page, so check back. Also, email me if you have any questions or want more info on the project.

In other news…

I just had my haiku published in Poetry for the Masses! It’s a great project that posts poetry in public places to reach people who might not normally read poetry. You can also read their stuff on their new website. Here’s a link to my poem in the new February issue…

My birthday cake: funfetti cake, strawberry icing, and an entire bottle of rainbow sprinkles. (Thanks mom!) Delicious.

I have finally posted the details of the book project I am working on this year: 146 Poems of Love. You can read the specifics and all the submission guidelines under the 146Poems tab above. The project was inspired by the organization Love146 which works toward ending child slavery and exploitation, and a portion of the proceeds from book sales will be donated to the organization.

I am so excited to watch this project grow through your contributions and as it develops over the next few months I’ll be posting updates through this blog.
