Every Monday morning before I get to my classroom, my co-teacher gathers all the pencils, sharpens them, and leaves them in a neat bundle on the counter. It is a lovely sight, and I manage to find excuses all day long to jot small notes and lists and reminders, just so I can try each one. There is nothing quite like writing with a perfectly sharpened pencil… Such a happy thing.
